Rogue copies of Green Simurgh, an Internet proxy software application used in Iran and Syria, have been found to contain malware that records users' activities and keystrokes.
Green Simurgh is an anti-censorship application that routes a computer's outbound connections to a server located in the U.S. This allows the software's users to bypass network filters and access Internet resources that would normally be banned by their ISP.
Green Simurgh doesn't require any installation and can run directly from USB memory sticks, which makes it suitable for users who access the Internet from cafes and public computers.

Canadian smartphone manufacturer RIM has briefly ceased trading of their stock today in order to issue a “business update” from CEO Thorsten Heins to their stockholders.
Though the release takes the time to outline some of the company’s recent personnel changes, Heins also points out that the company has enlisted the services of both the Royal Bank of Canada and J.P. Morgan to help the company evaluate their financial strategies going forward.

Google Apps for Business has earned ISO 27001 certification, an important step that will help Google better convince enterprise customers Apps is secure enough for their needs.
“ISO 27001 is one of the most widely recognized, internationally accepted independent security standards and we have earned it for the systems, technology, processes and data centers serving Google Apps for Business,” Eran Feigenbaum, Director of Security for Google Enterprise, wrote on a company blog.
