Posted by TechCrunch
One of the nice little surprises at Samsung’s Galaxy S III unveiling in London was that the device would be preloaded with the fabled Android version of the Flipboard social magazine app. The news came from out of the blue — while the iOS version has garnered plenty of acclaim and some nifty new updates, Android users were (largely) left out in the cold.
Now it appears that the app will soon be finding its way onto other Android devices, but perhaps not in the way that most users would hope. According to a new report from Engadget, the Flipboard team is close to releasing a beta version of the app to a small number of users to gain critical feedback before launching the final pro[...]

Groupon acquires Breadcrumb to connect with local restaurants
Posted by VentureBeat
Restaurant and hospitality point of sale startup Breadcrumb has joined the Groupon family. The Chicago-based online couponing firm has acquired the New York-based startup, Groupon reported Tuesday in a blog post.
Unsurprisingly, the amount of the deal was not disclosed. Pentax K-30 announces 16MP weather-sealed mid-range DSLR

Shown off with a suitably dramatic photo of the camera surviving a Tiswas-like bucket of water, Pentax’s new mid-level K-30 dSLR offers weather-sealed performance in a chunky looking package.
Featuring the same 16MP sensor and processor as the bizarre looking Pentax K-01, the K-30 comes in a jaunty range of colours and sports something of a futuristic streamlined look.
Pentax say the camera features no less than 81 seals (as in rubber seals, and not the cuddly white things that get clubbed by meanies) with its weather, dust and cold protection ensuring it can keep snapping in sub-freezing temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C).
The camera can also fire off shots continuously at up to 6 f[...]
