What’s In A Name? Nintendo Seems To Be Sticking With Calling Its Next-Gen System Wii U

Nintendo unveiled the tablet-centric Wii U at last year’s E3. At the time the company was clear that it was a working name. A report earlier this year stated that Nintendo was exploring other options. E3 kicks off next week and it seems increasingly likely that Nintendo is sticking with the unusual moniker.
First off, Nintendo just launched a Wii U Facebook campaign complete with an intro video with Reggie Fils-Aime welcoming guests to the Wii U page. Second, and perhaps more importantly, the Wii U logo is now on Nintendo’s press site.

Foursquare and Starbucks fight AIDS with largest non-profit check-in campaign

Fighting AIDS through Foursquare check-ins and lattes, non-profit (RED), Starbucks, and the location-based startup have partnered up for a 10-day fundraising and AIDS awareness campaign.
From June 1 to 10, Starbucks will donate $1 to the Global Fund, the recipient of (RED) money, for every Foursquare check-in at any of its locations in the U.S. and Canada. The partnership and check-in campaign, which will raise up to $250,000, aims to spread the word via social media channels around (RED)’s Rush to Zero campaign, an effort that seeks to eliminate the mother-to-child transmission of HIV by 2015.

After customs delay, HTC Evo 4G LTE will hit Sprint on June 2

HTC’s Evo 4G LTE Android smartphone for Sprint will finally land on June 2 after being delayed access to the States.
The phone was originally scheduled to hit the U.S. on May 18, but it was stopped at customs over a patent dispute with Apple. HTC said that the Evo 4G LTE and One X Android smartphones made it through the review process on Tuesday.
The Evo 4G LTE is the successor to the incredibly popular Evo 4G, which was one of Sprint’s best-selling phones ever.
