Salesforce.com Buys Corporate 'perks' Software Vendor ChoicePass

Salesforce.com has acquired ChoicePass, a Web company that offers companies services for providing employees with perks and discounts at local businesses.
"Since launching our Perks product, we've found that there is massive demand from businesses for innovative ways to manage employee engagement, rewards and incentives," ChoicePass said on its official blog this week. ChoicePass and Salesforce.com "share the same vision and passion for employee recognition, as well as our entrepreneurial spirit," it added.
ChoicePass will shutter its operations and close down its website on June 30, according to the post. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Facebook is adding subscription billing for app developers, in what should help gaming and media companies earn more revenue from their most loyal users. Starting next month, developers will be able to offer premium plans or special content from a monthly fee.Facebook is keeping the same 30-70 percent revenue share that it has with in-app purchases. The company hinted in its road show video that it might lower its 30 percent take for other verticals, but it hasn’t officially announced plans to do so. Enterprise CIOs may not think their company is making use of the public cloud. But, little do they know, their business colleagues may already be leaning on a ?shadow IT? department supplied by outside service providers.
At GigaOM Structure Thursday in San Francisco, Thomas Roloff, COO of EMC Corporation, said that when he asks enterprise CIOs how much of the public cloud they think they have today, too many will say they don?t have any.
